School Clinics

Aussie Hoops is an initiative of Basketball Australia and the Australian Sports Commission for primary schooled aged children. Girls and boys, able and disabled, naturally gifted or sporting battler. Aussie Hoops caters for ALL.

It provides opportunities to learn, to play with your friends and to develop important social skills in a convenient, safe and friendly environment.

The program is designed to:

  • Be safe
  • Gradually build confidence
  • Emphasise involvement
  • Develop healthy lifestyle
  • Developed a relationship between elite and gross roots basketball
  • Create a positive outlook on physical activity
  • Be enjoyable for players, teachers, parents and coaches
  • Be easy to implement
  • Adapt to any locality

Local Associations who have trained presenters providing fun filled activity sessions at your local school, community centre or local stadium deliver the program throughout Australia. Whether you are committed to becoming a champion or just enjoy the sport of basketball, Aussie Hoops will offer appropriate programs to meet all children’s desires.

Aussie Hoops is the who package for today’s children……………GREAT GAMES, ENTERTAINING AND LOADS OF FUN

Aussie Hoops Coaches will actively bring the sport of basketball to the schools during school time. All basketballs will be provided and we may even have some treats and surprises for the children.

The flexibility of Aussie Hoops allows for the program to be incorporated into the already established Learning Outcomes of your current curriculum. All arrangements can be made to suit your schools needs.

Penrith Basketball is offering schools:

  • “HAVE A GO DAY” at your school during school hours. There is no cost for this program.
  • A series of Aussie Hoops session during school hours, over a period.
  • A series of Aussie Hoops session during after school hours, over a period.

Schools participating in any PSSA or New South Wales Basketball event may also ask for an Aussie Hoops coach, who will coach and/or train school teams and pass on coaching skills to the teachers or parents involved.

If your school is interested all you have to do is contact Penrith Basketball and make all the necessary arrangements (time, day, class sizes, equipment etc). All arrangements can be made to suit your school and we are always flexible to your needs.
