Panthers take double against Bruins

The Penrith Championship Men and Women notched up two great wins against Bankstown Bruins last week at home.

Both teams, with their new Black strips and new look playing rosters ran out winners 82-67 in the Men and 76-59 in the Women.

This was the first win of the season for the Men and the leading scorers were Louis Brandt with 20, Sean Albert 14 and Ben Kearins and Cameron Day both with 10pts.

For the Women it was their season opener and with star recruit Rohanee Cox in Penrith colours for the first time. The girls did not disappoint with a solid win over the Bruins. Rohanee led the way with  25pts and 17 rebounds but was well supported by Taylah Clark 13pts and 13 rebounds plus Tahlia Tupaea 17 pts.

On Sunday the girls lost on the road to 2013 Premiers Illawarra 57-71 but were well in the game right up to 3/4 time. A tough 4th quarter saw Illawarra pull away to a 14pt win.
