Panther junior, Tahlia Tupaea has been selected in the Australian U19 Gems to compete at the 2013 World Championships in Lithuania in July. Tahlia is the only bottom age player at 16 yrs of age, selected in the team and is still eligible for the U17 World Championships next year.
Tahlia is a wonderful ambassador for our sport and this selections comes after 7 years of hard work and commitment and great support from her family.

Extract from BA: The Gems will take on the world’s best in Lithuania led by the two most recent WNBL Rookie of the Year winners in Carley Mijovic (2012) and Stephanie Talbot (2013), along with fellow WNBL young guns in Darcee Garbin, Casey Samuels and teen sensation Tahlia Tupaea.
Under the leadership of Gems Head Coach Cheryl Chambers, the team will begin their quest for World Championship glory against South American powerhouse Argentina in the early hours of July 19 before games against Japan and Spain.
